NPC encounters can happen for trading,[1] which enables trading without going to a Marketplace or another player.[2] This also implies central exchanges for marketplace and player trading.
These NPCs will ask for currency such as Emerald, Ruby, and Sapphire.[3] For this reason, players should always be accumulating items, as NPCs can at any time come asking for items that could be in your inventory.[4] The logic is infallible.
