Lore
Since long ago there was a secret, inclusive society of peoples in Destoria that vowed to be sure the lands of which they were true, would always remain from tyranny and in balance; known as the Destorian Disciples. Their beginnings are of myth, and remain a mystery of many... sparking wonder and fascination to those who would whisper their name. The Disciples have always been in the shadows as the watchful eye and vengeful hand of those who seek to destroy that which the people have built. Passed down from many generations are their teachings, methodology, and conviction in that which they stand to preserve. Before The Withering, they trained in the ancient ways of hand to hand combat, alchemy, stealth, and magic as their ancestry came from Tegrakians. Through their vast wisdom and understanding of Destoria, they sensed that something large and catastrophic was coming when the pillars they so worshiped began fading. As the voices started to fade, the Disciples had an uncanny instinct to seek a place of refuge that they may last through what was to come.
The long road ahead would test their will and fortitude to press forward in hopes of preserving their ancient ways in hopes for a better tomorrow. Along the journey The Disciples tried to forewarn those as they passed from village to village seeking the place that they may call home for what was to come. A keen sense of the land had led them to a Mountain of which many dared to trek. The Withering was now upon them, heavy fog engulfing the land, yet they persisted even as some had succumbed to this mysterious plague that had fallen upon them.
In what seemed like a lifetime, with treacherous terrain, loss of brothers and sisters, and the ominous fog creeping over every crevice of Destoria, they found the place that intuition had led them to. In a secluded corner of this mountain, was an entry way that would provide solace to the Disciples as they prepared to hold fast for what was to come. Upon entering this hidden entrance they had then realized why their path led their weary and downtrodden group, for an eerie yet beautiful mineral in the caverns glowed as they made their way. This “Destorium” as it would be called, would lead to their evolution and salvation with the many benefits that it would provide the Disciples.
As years progressed, The Disciples remained vigilant in their efforts to pass down their knowledge, tactics, and magic to those who would seek refuge as they went out to secure their living essentials. They had mastered their craft in combat, precision, special techniques, stealth, magic, alchemy, and their new found power of healing derived from the study of Destorium which would change their destiny.
With many years tucked away in this mountain, and the vast amount of this rare mineral that presented in abundance with such amazing properties, the High Circle of Disciples would master healing and other new techniques of magic and alchemy, which brought comfort as the pillars and voices had been fading. These new found mystic abilities would help the people of Destoria as the dark ominous fog would begin to fade.
Holding strong in their traditions, as the world began to arise from such bewilderment and gastly devastation that was The Withering, The Disciples' conviction and teachings held strong as the new world took form. Their mission, as always, was to be sure that Destoria would be a land of balance. The Disciples use their ancient ways of stealth and combat for hire, or as they see fit, to be sure that no one group shall reign with tyrannous intentions. Their actions are swift, their movements fast, and their strikes deadly. The people of Destoria only know them as a myth, for they are rarely seen, but when they are, their presence is known and respected. For they are, The Disciples of Destoria.
